creation in the 1980s under the name Stumbo, DeRossett & Pillersdorf.
Ned came to Kentucky as a public-defender in the early 80s and has
been protecting the rights of the underdog ever since.
Ned is highly active in the Eastern Kentucky community. He helped
found the Floyd County Animal Shelter with his wife, Court of Appeals
Judge Janet L. Stumbo. Ned has coached in the Prestonsburg Little
League for over 20 years and was also the head coach of The David
School varsity high school basketball team for five years.
Ned just celebrated his 30th year of being an attorney and over that time
has been involved in over 400 jury trials. Ned is the recipient of the
2001 Criminal Defense Attorney of the Year from the Kentucky
Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Ned and Judge Stumbo have three daughters: Sarah, 26, Nancee, 24,
and Samantha, 21. Nancee and Sam have just finished taking the LSAT.
