to vote, freedom from involuntary servitude, and the right to equality in

Discrimination occurs when the civil rights of an individual are denied or
interfered with because of their membership in a particular group or class.
Statutes have been enacted to prevent discrimination based on a persons
race, sex, religion, age, previous condition of servitude, physical limitation,
national origin and in some instances sexual preference.
One important right consistently discriminated against in Eastern
Kentucky is the right to be affiliated with whichever political party
one desires.
Americans are free to join and associate with any political party that they
desire -- be it Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, an Independent, or even
no party at all.
Discrimination can occur if someone is judged solely by the political party in
which they associate. Perhaps someone supported the wrong candidate
in a local election or lost their job because they belonged to a different
political party than his or her new boss.
